 The Reference 160M features a refined audio topology with fewer and better components in the signal-path than in previous designs, switchable Ultralinear/Triode operation, proprietary auto-bias, output tube monitoring and protection, an advanced power meter, and much more. This array of features has never been offered before in an Audio Research amplifier. 

 The Reference 160S stereo power amplifier has a vacuum-tube design. It follows in the footsteps of the internationally-acclaimed 160M monaural power amplifier, introduced in 2018, which has won multiple amplifier-of the-year honors from publications such as Stereophile, Hi-Fi+, and others.  he 160S also uses a four-layer circuit board, allowing music to emanate from a jet-black background. 

The VT80SE combines world-class performance with flexibility and features like auto-bias. the VT80SE has been an amp that is easy to take home and just forget as you enjoy your music collection again for the first time.  The new VT80SE is upgrading the KT120 tubes to the higher performance KT150 output tubes. 

The 80S was created for the music lover who does not require the output power of its larger siblings, the Reference 160S stereo and 160M mono amplifiers. The 80S continues the design ethos, including dual GhostMeters® that float in front of four KT150 output tubes. Extruded panels, a vital part of the all-aluminum chassis, provide rigidity and beauty.
